Thank you for stopping by my blog. I appreciate you taking the time to read my post!!!
Last weekend I had the honor of attending Oprah’s 2020 Vision tour presented by WW in Dallas, thanks to my wonderful husband Steven. To say that it was motivational and inspirational is an understatement.
I am still digesting the many nuggets of wisdom I learned throughout the course of the day and thought I would share them with you.
Saturday morning began with the Daybreakers which brought the 17,000 attendees at the AmericanAirlines arena 17,000 to their feet for one heck of a dance party 💃🏼 It was my first experience with them, and it definitely ignited all five senses. Check them out, https://www.daybreaker.com/2020visiontour/
Oprah then took the stage. WOW, just wow!!! There’s a presence about her that makes it feel like your sitting in her living room. She’s very personable and relatable.

My notes from Oprah’s shared wisdom

You are here. Right now. Exactly where you are supposed to be. Now is your life.
Give yourself and others the gift of your presence.
What fear is holding you back?
We go from parents to consultants. We are not our child’s manager.
I CAN, I WILL, WATCH ME!!!

We are powerful beyond measure.

When Oprah was recently diagnosed with pneumonia, she was under doctors orders to stay home – no work, no travel, nothing. She realized her illness was a gift of stillness (being), and began to appreciate what her body can do for her. During her bed rest, she also realized there was peace in the storm. Answers come in the stillness.
After Oprah’s powerful presentation, came The Big Quiet with Jesse Israel. Imagine stillness and quietness in an arena of 17,000 people… Yes, that happened. Jesse guided us through a meditation which brought so much peace. And just like Oprah said, there is a gift in stillness where answers are revealed.
Back to Oprah’s wisdom:
Be thoughtfully responsive.

Intention rules the outcome.
For every action, there is a reaction.
When Oprah did her talk show, and before she agrees to do an engagement, she always asks “What is the intention?” Afterwards, she asks “Did we fulfill the intention?” Intention rules the day.
Relationships – the other person teaches us about ourselves.

Importance of journaling – answers are revealed during the journaling. Oprah has been journaling her entire life.
It’s none of my business what others think of me.
And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, Tracee Ellis Ross, was brought on stage for a visionary conversation. Honestly, I had never heard of her but now I’m one of her fans. It felt as if we were watching Oprah & Tracee have an afternoon chat in their living room. As the daughter of Diana Ross, she shared “I’m not supposed to sound like my Mom. I’m not even supposed to be her. I can’t fill her shoes. No one can fill her shoes. All I can do is make a pact with myself to be myself…” Tracee brought Diana in her car so she could hear her sing. At the age of 47, Tracee has faced her biggest fear by stepping in the recording studio to record for a role in her upcoming movie. Check out the video my husband took ❤️
Let’s just say that Tracee left quite an impression on me. What. A. Woman!!!
Closing out this amazing day was Oprah encouraging us to Dream a Bigger Dream. Whatever our dream is, make it bigger. Let go of the past, its holding you back. Forgive the past. You. Are. Here. Now.
Oprah shared with us bits of her childhood and her relationship with her mother. I personally put people on pedestals assuming “certainly Oprah has it all figured out.” BUT… newsflash Lisa. Oprah is human too. Hearing her share that her grandmother (who raised her until she was 6 years old) gave her the gift of Jesus, and how she called on God and his angels for protection in fearful times… Hearing her share about her mothers impending death and how Oprah herself was at a loss of words, not knowing what to say or do. Time was running out. Once again, she called on God for help. Oprah found the answer in calling Mahalia Jackson to sing “Take My Hand Precious Lord,” to her Mom over the telephone.

What do you want to do with your one precious life?
Thank you Steven for this wonderful opportunity. Thank you Oprah for an unforgettable day ❤️
