Why?

My Facebook memories, brought up this post from 2012:

My initial “Why?” of my weight loss journey was because I was tired of my “all or nothing” attitude and procrastination. I was tired of feeling bad about myself and sitting in the problem. I was looking for a sustainable & livable program that would also benefit my family. I wanted freedom with food, not restrictions. I knew where to find the solution, so I took action and walked through the doors of Weight Watchers, now called WW. It opened up a new world for me and that’s one of the many reasons I am so passionate about it.

My walking has always been therapeutic for me. While I benefit from the physical aspect of it, it’s played a huge role in helping me out emotionally. It’s my alone time to clear my head, pray, or make phone calls all while enjoying the fresh air.

My Isokinetix has challenged my cardio & strength endurance. The fact that I can always go at my pace and work around my physical limitations has been so important.

My initial “Why?” for walking through the doors of AA was shame and self defeat. My sobriety & recovery has given me the tools to guide me through the trials of life. The program & fellowship has brought me relief, guiding me through my darkest days and painful challenges of life. I must work on being spiritually fit on a daily basis and I cannot do it alone. I say with all sincerity that my heart is filled with gratitude when it comes to Alcoholics Anonymous.

So I answer YES to my Facebook post of 7 years ago.

My health & fitness and sobriety brings me joy, love, peace, fulfillment and makes me feel ALIVE!!!
