Goodbye January, Hello February!!!
I appreciate you stopping by my blog. I don’t know about you, but January was a LONG month. As I say goodbye to January and embrace February, I found it interesting to look back at the highlights of January.
Our family started off the month by celebrating our pride and joys 5th birthday!!! Our lil man is growing up fast. He definitely puts into perspective the simplicity of life. Kids find so much joy in things that often go unnoticed by adults. Looking at life through my grandsons eyes is very refreshing.
January also started with the 21-day Forks Over Knives Fresh Start challenge which I welcomed. Week One started with plant based breakfast, week two added lunch, and week three added dinner. I LOVED trying new recipes. It’s amazing how EASY AND DELICIOUS plant-based eating is. Nope, not doing it π―, but doing it majority of the time and feeling great.

Our family had a blast at the Saints-Vikings game. Well, the loss was a huge disappointment, but… Saints games are such a part of our family time and win or lose, its always a great time. It’s just hard to beat the Saints fellowship and the energy in the dome.
Nicholas, my New Yorker, came home to see his LSU fighting tigers in action as they earned the titled as NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!! It was a special weekend of him catching up with his LSU college roommates, and enjoying all of the festivities. Once in a lifetime memories were made. Thanks to my husband for making this weekend special for our family & friends β€οΈ Of course, while I had a full nest we had to get in a few rounds of our traditional game, Five Crowns.

Our family continues to grow, and we had the joy of seeing our future grandchild on a 4-D Ultrasound. Sweet angel has already stolen our hearts and Reid is already the BEST big brother ever. We are blessed beyond measure.

I always enjoy going back to my hometown of Lafayette, but January gave me the chance to see both of my Lifetime best friends and another visit bringing Reid to see my Mom.
One special Sunday afternoon was spent with friends going to see Like A Boss followed by Hibachi. The movie was lighthearted and funny. I hadn’t had Hibachi in a very long time, and of course it was a FUN experience with laughter, delicious food with wonderful friends.
Steven’s annual banquet took place and it was an evening filled with celebration and dancing. I love celebrating everyone’s success and spending time with our work family. Always a good time π
As for music, January brought the obsession with Selena Gomez new album, Rare. It’s hard to single out my favorite song because they are ALL SO GOOD!!! But a few are Rare, Look at Her Now & Lose You to Love Me. Lose You to Love Me is such a powerful song. I apply the lyrics to losing all things toxic, losing anything robbing me of peace & joy in order to stay true to myself and love myself fully so that I can love others. Check out the lyrics and video. Powerful message
My commitment to fitness still comes by the way of Orangetheory and yoga. I took countless classes in both, but what about all of those splat points from OT πͺπΌβ€οΈ
Life isn’t always rainbows, had some down days because such is life. January was a rollercoaster of emotions, but looking back at everything that we did there was SO MUCH JOY!!!
Regarding my goal of reading Best Self, I did not complete it. I struggled with staying focused but feeling determined to get back on track this month.
I’m looking forward to a fabulous February.
