Happy New Year my friends!!! New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day is my absolute favorite holiday. I love celebrating and reflecting on the close of one year and starting the next with a new slate. Although every day is a new beginning 😊
2019 was a year of personal growth and adventures thanks to my commitment to my 54 Before 54. I plan on 2020 being a continuation of all that I discovered in 2019, so on this first day of January I tried two new recipes – vegan black eye peas https://thewanderlustkitchen.com/vegan-black-eyed-peas/ and wild rice, cabbage & chickpea pilaf from Forks over Knives, https://www.forksoverknives.com/recipes/wild-rice-cabbage-chickpea-pilaf/#gs.p11xyf. So delicious!!!
I had so much fun in the kitchen this morning, my husband busted me dancing while cooking and took a video of me 🙈. (Video posted on my Instagram, lifewithlisa9)
Dessert was a refreshing Apple Pie parfait using homemade apple butter. It was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. Recipe for the parfait is from steph_on_ww and apple butter recipe from http://rachelshealthyplate.com/crockpot-apple-butter/

It brings me such joy to try new foods and recipes to share with my family. Who knew cooking could be so much fun!!!
I appreciate you following my blog and taking time to read my posts. I hope I’ve brought a dose of inspiration and happiness to your day.
Wishing you and your loved ones a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. Cheers to 2020 🎉

Lisa, the black eye peas remind me of my late mother-in-law. She lived in Maryland, and she was adamant about eating black eye peas on New Year’s Day. Thanks for sharing and taking me back a few years.
