Thirsty Thursday 💦

On this Thirsty Thursday, I thought I would share with you my personal struggle with water intake. I recently had a conversation with a health professional and I disclosed to her a not so healthy habit of mine… too much caffeine and not nearly enough water. I know better, yet it is my weakness. When I held up my 30 ounce water bottle to her after a workout and confessed that this was probably all the water I would drink today – if even that much – her facial expression said it all. I will forever be grateful for her authentic reaction. It was exactly what I needed.

With that revelation along with the desire to start 75 Hard, mainly for the water requirement, I knew I had to take action. Around the same time I received an invitation to do 75 Hard, which I accepted. In 2021-22 I did Live Hard which starts with 75 Hard and proceeds with three phases throughout the year and it was transformative on many levels. Regardless, I vowed I would never do it again. And yet, here I was…

So harsh 😳

About the water requirement of 1-gallon daily, it was a shock to the system. I went from one extreme to the next. After 14-days, I made the intentional decision to withdraw. Personally, it is not sustainable or realistic. I decided to commit to 90-ounces of water which is both doable yet challenging. Win-Win!!!

My New Tracker

I’m really enjoying the benefits of my daily water habit, which include: clearer complexion, improved digestion, flushing my system, and more energy!!!

Fun Fact: Did you know that the human body is composed of approximately 60% water, highlighting its importance for bodily functions? It is suggested to drink half of your body weight in ounces, for example if you weigh 150 pounds, then 75 ounces of water is recommended and should be increased based on physical activity. No wonder I’m feeling so much better!!!
