Hey Fearless Souls,
Let’s talk about fear – the invisible force that often holds us back but, when faced, has the power to transform us. I’ve been on a journey of breaking free from my people pleasing ways and fearing others’ opinions. While I’ve come a long way, I’m still growing in this area. Recently, I stumbled upon Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s iconic “Shallow” performance on YouTube, and it struck a chord.
In the video, Lady Gaga is called on stage by Bradley Cooper. She was unprepared while facing the terror of performing in front of an audience. Yet, she found the courage to break through and take the stage. Sometimes, we just have to jump in and bust through our fears. Speaking of which, I find myself a few weeks into another college semester, wrestling with familiar feelings of fear and overwhelm. There’s a looming test, and the information seems impossible to retain. There are new assignments which feels like navigating uncharted waters, leaving me feeling a bit lost. But, here’s the thing – I know I have to keep showing up for myself. Just like Lady Gaga took the stage, I’m navigating this semester, one assignment and one test at a time. As long as I keep moving forward, I can’t go wrong.
Another big, scary yet VERY exciting thing on my plate is my internship of a 200-hour yoga teacher training. It’s a hybrid program, and our first in-person workshop threw us right into the deep end. Practice teaching commenced just a couple of hours in, and I won’t lie – I was scared. But here’s the revelation: we all have our own starting points.
Cheers to facing fear head-on and conquering it. It’s about embracing growth in every note, every semester, and every challenge. Here’s to the journey of looking fear in the face and emerging stronger on the other side.
Stay fearless my friends!
