This morning I went to the grocery store for the simple task of getting ingredients for a new recipe of a vegan lentil chili. When I realized I was blocking the aisle, I apologized to the lady behind me and told her I was looking for red lentils for my chili. This struck up a lengthy conversation in which she quickly swayed me into trying her chili. As she joyfully told me about it, she started grabbing the ingredients from the shelf and explaining her choices. When we parted I thanked her for her kindness and told her she was my angel.

She had so much love and passion for her chili and now I know why. It was absolutely delicious. Love was the secret ingredient.

My unexpected encounter at the grocery store gave an unexpected ingredient ~ kindness. A dash here and there sure goes a long way.
