Name the professional athletes you respect the most and why.

Shannon Miller, a decorated gymnast, all round champion in 1993 & 1994, and 1996 Olympian. She first caught my attention during the 1996 Olympics, along with the gold medal-winning Magnificent Seven team. Shannon’s intense focus and the mutual respect that she and her coach had for one another was something like I’ve never seen before.

Following the Olympics, this balance beam champion went on to graduate from college and law school. Shannon’s character has always impressed me and has continued to impact me since the 1990’s.
