During moments of self-reflection during a recent morning walk, I recalled a story shared within my Familia Bible study group years ago. The parable revolved around a lady who arrived in heaven and discovered a closet brimming with unwrapped gifts. Puzzled, she asked God about their purpose. His response was both enlightening and thought-provoking. God explained that these gifts were intended for her during her time on Earth, but they were left unused. The story serves as a reminder that God grants us unique gifts, tailor-made to serve Him and fulfill our purpose in life.

Reflecting on the story, makes me wonder if and when I have denied, rejected, or ignored the gifts freely given by God. In our journey through life, various factors can lead us astray from these gifts. Perhaps the fear of failure or the influence of others has swayed us away from utilizing our talents and abilities. These gifts are not always convenient or easily understood by others, but their true worth lies in the connection established between us and our Heavenly Father.
As we continue to walk through life, let us use this parable to reassess our path through self-reflection. May we strive to recognize God’s gentle nudges, allowing His gifts to manifest and leaving us with an empty closet when we eventually meet our Heavenly Father, knowing we have lived a life aligned with His divine plan.

Are you actively seeking and embracing the gifts that God has bestowed upon you, or are you leaving your closet full of untapped potential?
