Be A Beginner

Allow yourself to be a beginner…

That is exactly how I ended March and began April. I decided to go on an adventure and try new fitness classes.

I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone, revamped my fitness routine, and have experienced various classes:

  • Barre: fusion of ballet, Pilates, yoga & weights
  • Les Mills Bodyflow: yoga, tai chi & Pilates workout
  • Les Mills CXWORX: 30-minute core class
  • PiYo: combo of Pilates & yoga
  • Les Mills Grit: 30-minute high intensity interval training workout

The most important thing that I’ve done while trying new classes is listen to my body and modify when needed. ALWAYS! Some classes are not realistic for me, others provide the fun challenge that keeps me coming back for more. I also learned real quick that when a class is “only” 30 minutes, it’s going to be intense!

YOGA!!! Steven & I have been wanting to incorporate this into our daily routine for awhile now. And we FINALLY did!!! We are really enjoying learning this practice together and already reaping the benefits.

As uncomfortable as it can be trying something new, it gets a little easier and familiar each time you go back. Don’t let fear stop you!!!

Bike riding is another activity that Steven & I have enjoyed together. It’s relaxing while taking in the beauty of Mother Nature. The birds are singing, the squirrels are running around, turtles are hanging around, the aroma of flowers are in the air. Love the beauty that God provides for us.

My walking remains the same, can’t imagine life without it!!!

When one door closes, pull yourself together and explore all of the opportunities waiting for you on the other side. I did and its been both challenging AND rewarding!!!

I challenge you to try something new and be a beginner again.

  1. Lisa, thx so much for sharing your journey. Your transformation is amazing, but I have to say I always knew what a special person you were. You are a true lady, so genuine & have the sweetest soul, & I admire your commitment to your faith. To me—those things make your beauty shine.
I too love the barre classes & yoga. You are so right!! Growth occurs when new experiences line our path. Can’t wait to spend time w/ u again.
